The Moscow circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard was opened in 1880 thanks to Albert Salamonsky - a hereditary circus artist and entrepreneur. He became its director and founder. The building was constructed by architect Weber on the money patron of the merchant Daniel. The first ruble gained for tickets is said to be framed and hung in the box office. From the first days of work the new circus became very popular. This intelligent and prescient man invited the best artists and attracted as an audience, not only the rich merchants and aristocrats, who comfortable boxes were made for, but also the ordinary people by selling cheap tickets to the gallery.

We are waiting for you in the circus!
